Team World Challenger and Laus Playbook Esports have qualified for MPL PH S7
The MPL PH has finally locked in two last teams for its seventh season. After sizing down a record-breaking registration pool of over 3,000 teams, Team World Challenger and Laus Playbook Esports dominated the 8-team playoff bracket and proved that they’re able to join the PH league.
Rising contender Team World Challenger was a moment favorite within the tournament. Sweeping every series throughout the upper bracket, the team faced returning MPL PH S3 champs ArkAngel within the upper bracket final.
Despite rising against a more known team, WORK stood their ground with some worthy trades. In exchange for an inhibitor turret within the top lane, the WORK squad claimed the Lord and a couple of easy kills to initiate a stronger split-lane push.
In the final push, Chuuu managed to select off Saxajago’s Lancelot after he made a miscalculated dive right at the bottom inhibitor. With AA’s main damage dealer now out of the image, the remainder of labor alongside the Lord sieged the inhibitor for the sport one win.
Game two was a slow start for WORK thanks to ArkAngel’s efficiency in shutting down their rotations. With AA stealing two turtles and controlling most of the map, the team was just expecting Chuuu to seem for potential picks and openings.
To turn things around, Chuuu opted to dive into their jungle and bait out three enemies into the remainder of his team. With Fy’s Jawhead sending Saxajago over the wall, ArkAngel had no choice but to hitch within the fight, but with Jobert easily pinching out the squad, Chuuu and his crew easily claimed three kills, a turtle, and a turret from the clash.
Team World Challenger eventually came out on top with a huge Lord down the mid lane. Although the team wasn’t ready to seal the win on the primary attempt, Chuu took out Fall’s Benedetta during a quick scuffle within the top jungle and immediately pushed back the remainder of AA back to their base.
Mobile Legends post-M2 global power rankings: Bren Esports leads the way
The Mobile Legends M2 World Championship bound up last weekend, after five days of sensational MLBB action.
Bren Esports capped off a stellar 2020 with a well-deserved win, Burmese Ghouls stunned everyone with a Cinderella run that saw them finish as runners-up, and teams from Brazil, Japan, Cambodia, and Russia proved that MLBB is actually a worldwide esport.
1. Bren Esports
As MPL PH S6 champions, MPLI runners-up, and now M2 World Champions, Bren Esports has proven time and time again that they deserve the highest spot.
Under the wing of coach Duckey, Pheww and his crew took down both Indonesian teams at M2, beating friend twice, and eliminating tournament favorites RRQ Hoshi within the Lower Bracket Final, proving once and for all that Indonesia’s dominance over pro-MLBB has come to an end.
With a stacked seven-man roster, there’s little question that the team will do its best to defend its throne as MPL PH and World Champions.
2. Burmese Ghouls
Burmese Ghouls placed on a fantastic performance at M2 and nearly got the higher of Bren Esports, taking them space during a gripping 4-3 Grand Final.
Many underestimated the Myanmar team, but coach PVNDV has his stars, ACE, and RubyDD, playing even as well as more well-known players from Indonesia and therefore the Philippines.
The four-time MPL MM champions are going to be wanting to extend their dynasty this season, and that we don’t see anyone challenging their dominance reception. We’re looking forward to seeing more of Burmese Ghouls in the international competition.
3. Alter Ego
Alter Ego was at an enormous disadvantage at M2, as that they had to play without captain and star player, Ahmad.
Nevertheless, they still played well, and if a couple of things had gone their way, they might have easily made it further within the tournament.
Ahmad’s replacement, YAM, did well to fill in, and his world-class Yu Zhong looked very impressive. Celiboy continues to be the face of the franchise and maybe a bonafide superstar.
